EVEREST AUTO WORKSHOP PTY LTD is a professional automotive service centre offering reliable vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs with a focus on quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. We are currently seeking a full-time Motor Mechanic to join our team, with the role based in Minto, NSW. This position is 38 hours per week, and the ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of relevant experience and hold a Certificate IV qualification in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis. A competitive salary of $77,000 to $80,000, plus superannuation, is on offer.

Task & responsibilities

• Diagnosed mechanical and electrical faults in petrol engines and light vehicles using scan tools, diagnostic software and manual testing.
• Removed and dismantled engines, transmissions, clutches, steering and suspension assemblies to inspect components for wear or damage.
• Repaired and replaced defective parts (e.g., timing belts, water pumps, seals/gaskets, bearings, brake and suspension components) to manufacturer specifications.
• Completed transmission servicing and minor repairs, ensuring correct fitment, adjustments and fluid levels.
• Performed logbook servicing and preventative maintenance including oil/filter changes, lubrication, tune-ups, spark plugs and fluid checks to support reliability and emission compliance.
• Diagnosed and repaired brake, steering and suspension issues to ensure safe handling and roadworthy performance.
• Tested and repaired electrical systems including batteries, alternators, starter motors, sensors and wiring using diagnostic equipment and multimeters.
• Interpreted fault codes and completed engine management repairs/adjustments to restore drivability and performance.
• Conducted post-repair testing and road tests to confirm faults were rectified and systems operated correctly.
• Assist for roadworthiness inspections and documented repair requirements to meet safety standards.
• Kept accurate job records and communicated findings, progress and recommendations to supervisors and customers while maintaining WHS and safe waste disposal practices.
