Task & responsibilities

This role supports the delivery of safe, efficient, and tailored automotive solutions across servicing, repairs, and diagnostics. The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and manufacturer service information
  • Perform routine servicing, including oil changes, inspections, lubrications, and engine tune-ups
  • Remove, dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble engines and mechanical components
  • Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective vehicle parts to manufacturer standards
  • Test and adjust repaired components to ensure safe and efficient vehicle operation
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance to ensure vehicles meet safety and emissions requirements
  • Conduct pre-sale and post-sale vehicle inspection
  • Use computer-based diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle faults
  • Must have experience working with hybrid vehicles, including diagnosing and repairing hybrid-specific systems
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation for completed work
  • Communicate technical issues clearly to customers and team members
  • Assist with breakdown and urgent repair work when required
  • Ensure workshop tools and equipment are used safely and maintained correctly
  • Comply with workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Support team members to deliver consistent, high-quality customer service

Qualification & experience

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:

  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia
  • At least one year of hands-on experience performing servicing, repairs, and diagnostics in a workshop environment
  • Strong ability to diagnose mechanical and basic electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment
  • Good communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers and colleagues
  • Sound understanding of safety standards, vehicle compliance, and workshop procedures
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a small, customer-focused team
  • Commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality workmanship and maintaining professional standards
  • Full Australian working rights and willingness to work flexible hours when required
