Salary: $85,000 per annum + superannuation

Dreamz Merchants Pty. Ltd., trading as Truck & Trailer Fitness Centre, is seeking a qualified and experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis in Dandenong South, Victoria. The successful candidate will service, diagnose, repair and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and associated mechanical systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Responsibilities and Tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance, including oil and filter changes and vehicle inspections.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines and associated vehicle systems.
• Diagnose, service and repair diesel fuel injection, engine management, starting and charging systems.
• Inspect, diagnose, service and repair diesel engines and related mechanical components.
• Dismantle engines and components; inspect parts for wear, damage or faults; repair or replace defective parts.
• Reassemble engines and components following repairs and ensure correct operation.
• Diagnose and repair braking, steering, suspension, transmission and driveline systems where required.
• Use manual and computerised diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical and electrical problems.
• Test vehicles and components after repairs and carry out engine tune-ups and adjustments to manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct vehicle safety inspections and identify issues affecting safe operation.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records, including parts used and work performed.
• Comply with workplace health and safety requirements and applicable industry standards.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or an equivalent relevant automotive trade qualification.
• Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or another relevant higher automotive qualification will be advantageous.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic or in a closely related automotive mechanical role.
• Demonstrated diesel engine servicing, diagnostic and repair experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills and ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment.
• Good understanding of workshop processes and workplace safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with attention to quality workmanship.
