We are seeking qualified and reliable Motor Mechanic to join our team at Sandgate workshop, Queensland. The role involves carrying out diagnostic, service, and repair work on motor vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards. The selected candidates will be responsible for identifying faults, performing maintenance and repair tasks, testing and adjusting vehicle systems, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of workmanship.

Task & responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicles and utilise diagnostic procedures to identify faults and determine appropriate repair or maintenance requirements.
  • Carry out servicing, repairs, and adjustments to vehicle systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workshop standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance activities, including oil changes, fluid checks, and general servicing to maintain vehicle performance and reliability.
  • Identify faults, determine suitable repair methods, and undertake repairs or component replacements to restore vehicles to safe and efficient operating condition.
  • Remove, refit, and replace mechanical components, ensuring correct assembly, alignment, and functionality.
  • Conduct post-service testing and inspections to verify performance and ensure all issues have been rectified.
  • Perform tyre-related services, including tyre fitting, balancing, rotation, puncture repairs, and wheel alignment to ensure safe handling and even tyre wear.
  • Carry out brake, steering, and suspension inspections and servicing to maintain vehicle safety and roadworthiness.
  • Undertake logbook servicing and vehicle safety checks in line with manufacturer and regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect and replace automotive components such as batteries and related systems as required.
  • Maintain accurate service records, document work performed, and follow workplace procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety standards and maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition. 

Qualification & experience

• Certificate IV in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification

• At least 1 year of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

• Ability to perform servicing, maintenance, and repair work in accordance with industry standards

• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team

• Commitment to workplace health and safety practices

• Ability to manage time efficiently and meet job deadlines

• Experience using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment is desirable
