Task & Responsibilities

Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components.
Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other parts for inspection.
Repair and replace worn or defective parts, ensuring precision by referencing service manuals.
Conduct scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups to ensure vehicle compliance with pollution regulations.
Reassemble engines and components after repairs, testing for optimal performance.
Use computers and diagnostic equipment to test and adjust parts, ensuring proper functionality.
Inspect vehicles and, when necessary, issue roadworthiness certificates or outline work needed to achieve compliance.
Respond to emergency vehicle breakdown service calls and provide on-site repairs.

Qualification & Experience

Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.
At least 2 years of proven experience as a motor mechanic, preferably in mobile service or workshop environments.
Strong diagnostic skills, particularly in both mechanical and electrical systems.
Hands-on experience with vehicle inspections and issuing roadworthiness certificates.
Ability to work independently and respond to emergency breakdowns efficiently.
Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, repair processes, and safety regulations.
