We are seeking an experienced, full-time Motor Mechanic to carry out mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and scheduled servicing on a wide range of passenger and light commercial vehicles. You'll work in a well-equipped workshop alongside a supportive team, with a steady flow of work and no shortage of variety.

Task & responsibilities

• Detect and diagnose faults in engines, transmissions, steering, and other mechanical systems
• Dismantle and remove engine assemblies and components, and inspect parts for wear or damage
• Repair or replace worn and defective parts, and reassemble mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and service manuals
• Perform scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, and tune-ups
• Use diagnostic equipment and computer-assisted tools to test and troubleshoot vehicle systems
• Carry out brake, suspension, and steering repairs and adjustments
• Test and adjust mechanical parts following repair to confirm correct performance
• Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates / advise on work required to achieve roadworthiness
• Maintain accurate records of jobs completed, parts used, and time spent on repairs
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding vehicle issues, required repairs, and costs
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with workshop WHS procedures

Qualification & experience

Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology 

Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis 

• Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic or Automotive Technician in a workshop environment for atleast 2-4 years
• Sound knowledge of engine, transmission, brake, and electrical systems across a range of vehicle makes and models
• Competent using diagnostic scan tools and workshop equipment
• Current driver's licence
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
