Challenge Pumps is a leading provider of end-to-end mine dewatering solutions servicing the underground mining sector. We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Trades Assistant to join our Kewdale workshop team.

This role is suited to someone who is early in their career, eager to build practical mechanical skills, and looking for a long-term opportunity within a structured and growing business.

The Role

Reporting to the Services Manager, this position plays a key role in supporting workshop productivity and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Working alongside experienced tradespeople, responsibilities include:

• Assisting with assembly and preparation of equipment

• Supporting mechanical fitters and machinists with workshop tasks

• Operating a forklift to move equipment and materials

• Assisting with lifting and positioning of components safely

• Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment

• Current Forklift Licence

• Confident forklift operation in a workplace setting

• Punctual and reliable

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Genuine interest in mechanical work and how equipment functions

• Seeking long-term employment and development
