Motor Mechanic – Full-Time | $75,000–$80,000 | VIC

We are expanding and now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Motor Mechanic to join our growing team in our Melton workshop.

About the Role

As a Motor Mechanic, you will play a vital role in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a wide range of vehicles with a strong focus on safety, quality and efficiency. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Duties

• Detecting and diagnosing mechanical faults in engines and vehicle components.
• Repairing and replacing defective or worn parts, using service manuals as required.
• Reassembling engines and mechanical components and conducting operational testing.
• Performing scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication services, and tune-ups to ensure vehicle performance and compliance with emissions standards.
• Using diagnostic equipment and computer-based tools to test and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
• Inspecting vehicles, assessing roadworthiness and advising customers of required repairs (where appropriately licensed).
• Fitting personalisation and customisation parts as required.
• Maintaining stock levels, managing workshop logistics and ensuring accurate reporting.
• Working safely and adhering to all workplace health and safety standards.

Qualifications & Skills

To be successful in this position, you will have:

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or higher) and minimum 1 years experience as a qualified Motor Mechanic.
• Strong ability to diagnose and assess repair requirements.
• High attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship.
• A positive, collaborative attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication skills and professionalism when interacting with customers and team members.
• Ability to supply your own basic toolkit.
• A strong work ethic, motivation and commitment to achieving workshop targets.
