Job Description

Greenwood Auto & Tyres is seeking a skilled and motivated Motor Mechanic with 1–2 years of relevant experience to join our automotive workshop.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of motor vehicles, including passenger vehicles, 4WDs and diesel vehicles. The role involves routine servicing and mechanical repairs, vehicle fault diagnosis, and repair or replacement of components including brakes, clutches, suspension, steering, exhaust systems and timing belts.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and mechanical repairs on various vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical faults using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Inspect, repair and replace vehicle components and systems.
• Carry out brake, clutch, suspension and steering repairs.
• Perform timing belt inspections and replacements.
• Diagnose and repair 4WD and diesel vehicles.
• Conduct computer diagnostics and identify vehicle faults.
• Carry out tyre, wheel and wheel alignment services as required.
• Maintain accurate service records and document repairs completed.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organised workshop.
• Work effectively as part of a professional automotive team.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard.

Skills and Experience

• Relevant qualification in Motor Mechanics or Automotive Technology.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience working in the similar field.
• Basic to sound knowledge of vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults.
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostic equipment and tools.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
