Due to continued growth within our Aftermarket Technical Services division, we are seeking an experienced QA/QC Inspector to join our Australian team.

This role is suited to an experienced individual with a fabrication, welding, or workshop background and demonstrated capability in QA/QC, vendor inspection, and OEM aftermarket support.

The role will primarily focus on workshop-based inspections and vendor quality oversight, ensuring fabricated components, repairs, and aftermarket spare parts are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, relevant standards, and customer requirements.

You will also support the aftermarket and spare parts team by undertaking technical quality verification, documentation review, and inspection activities associated with OEM replacement components and refurbishment works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct workshop inspections of fabrication, welding, repair works, and aftermarket spare parts completed by external vendors and suppliers

  • Perform visual inspections of structural steel, platework, mechanical components, and refurbished equipment

  • Monitor and oversee vendor quality activities to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, relevant standards, and company requirements

  • Support OEM aftermarket and spare parts sales teams with inspection, quality verification, and technical documentation activities

  • Verify welding activities in accordance with relevant standards, procedures, and approved documentation

  • Review fabrication documentation, material certificates, weld records, NDT reports, and inspection reports

  • Compile, review, and verify Manufacturing Data Records (MDRs) and quality documentation packages

  • Identify non-conformances, raise quality concerns, and support corrective action implementation and close-out activities

  • Verify material traceability, dimensional compliance, and general workshop quality controls

  • Liaise with vendors, workshop personnel, project teams, and customers regarding inspection requirements, quality expectations, and outcomes

  • Participate in site inspections, shutdown support, and vendor surveillance activities where required

  • Maintain safe work practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

About You

  • Trade or workshop background in fabrication, boilermaking, welding, or heavy mechanical maintenance

  • Demonstrated experience in QA/QC inspection, vendor surveillance, fabrication quality, or workshop inspection activities

  • Exposure to heavy fabrication, structural steel, mining equipment repairs, or aftermarket components

  • Strong practical workshop experience with a high focus on quality, compliance, and workmanship

  • Sound understanding of QA/QC processes, inspection requirements, and quality documentation

  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, welding documentation, and technical specifications

  • Good communication skills and ability to work with vendors, workshop teams, engineers, and customers

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Computer literacy and familiarity with quality documentation systems

  • Previous mining, heavy industry, or spare parts experience advantageous

  • Relevant inspection, welding, or QA/QC qualifications highly regarded (e.g., welding inspection, NDT exposure, or equivalent experience)

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work within a technically focused QA/QC and aftermarket environment

  • Exposure to OEM aftermarket operations, vendor management, and heavy industrial fabrication environments

  • Ongoing professional development and support for further inspection and QA/QC training

  • Opportunity to gain workshop and site inspection experience across mining and heavy industry sectors

  • Supportive team culture with long-term career opportunities

Please note:
