Job description:

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing all Tax aspects of the business. This includes end‑to‑end tax compliance, maintaining strong relationships with tax authorities, and supporting financial accounting and reporting processes. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys improving processes, staying across industry changes, and being a key contributor to business performance.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage all tax compliance obligations including BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax, CIT, CbCR, APA, and ACR
• Collaborate with internal departments to collect data required for accurate tax calculations
• Evaluate tax regulations and recommend policy improvements to minimise tax exposure
• Monitor industry and legislative changes to ensure full compliance
• Review and improve systems, processes, and controls related to tax and finance
• Act as the primary point of contact between the business and all relevant tax authorities
• Ensure all weekly, monthly, and annual reporting deadlines are met
• Prepare and perform monthly reviews of allocated balance sheet reconciliations
• Support month-end closing activities alongside the Finance Manager
• Prepare monthly/quarterly management reports and cost centre analysis
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and business plans
• Meet all reporting requirements to HQ in accordance with set timelines
• Provide support to broader financial accounting activities as required

Qualifications & Attributes

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• CA or CPA qualification (highly regarded)
• Minimum 5 years' experience in an accounting environment; automotive industry experience preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organisational and time management capabilities
• Approachable and professional when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proactive "can‑do" attitude
• Experience with SAP is desirable
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
