About us:

Beleza School Uniforms is an Australian family owned and operated business based in the Southeast suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. For over 40 years, we have supplied School uniforms to Public and Private schools ranging from Pre-School to Year 12 across Victoria and the east coast of Australia. We believe that we are a part of every School community we service, as an employer in our Retail stores and a supporter of School initiatives, community programs and groups. Our goal is to provide students and families access to affordable School Uniforms that are of a high standard of quality which reflects their communities’ identity and values.

About the role:

We’re currently looking for a Junior Screen Printer to join our Local Supply Chain team based in Hallam.

The role largely revolves around the final stage of the manufacturing process, which involves applying artwork to our garments and accessories using a variety of methods. The primary method is screen printing, where artwork is applied via a mesh screen using inks directly onto garments. Aside from the physical application of artworks, the role will grow and develop into designing and creating the artworks themselves in both digital and physical formats which allow the application process to occur.

No prior knowledge is necessary as ongoing training and development is provided in the role.

The role is a full-time position (Monday to Friday) and is suitable for someone who likes to be active, working in a dynamic environment, physically fit for handling manual tasks, has a keen attention to detail and enjoys working in a team. Career development and advancement opportunities within the Local Supply Chain team and wider company are available.

Key responsibilities/duties would include:

·      Applying artwork to garments via screen printing using specialised inks and via heat applications/transfers

·      Creating and designing artworks using the Adobe suite of programs (Illustrator, Photoshop etc)

·      Creating the screens used during the process

·      Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to organise artwork creation, consumables, supplies and deliveries

·      Administration: Preparing documentation for print runs, communicating with other departments, maintaining digital records etc

·      Picking and Packing print runs, including cross-checking orders/stock and preparing inventory for transportation (including loading/unloading).

·      Occasional heavy lifting (boxes up to 15-25kg)

·      Ticketing, tagging and labelling garments and packages for dispatch

·      Processing transactions in our inventory management system

About You: Skills, qualities, qualifications, and experience

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a role that has both physical and digital elements who's interested in garment manufacturing, artwork design and learning skills to create artwork. This role gives opportunities to develop skills in administration, process management and stakeholder management as well.

This is also an opportunity as a first step into the company, with career advancement as a focus point for the individual.

Key skills, qualities and experiences to succeed in the role:

·      Physically fit for handling the physical element of screen printing, machinery and lifting boxes (up to 15-25kg)

·      Strong attention to detail

·      Keen sense to learn and improve their skillset

·      Motivated, reliable, hardworking and punctual

·      Current Australian driver’s licence

·      Work well in a team environment

·      Flexible with working in a dynamic environment (with altering day to day responsibilities in the warehouse as needed)

·      Good communication skills both verbal and written

·      Proof of right to work in Australia
