Noranda Investments T/A Alliance Rim Repairs is seeking a reliable Tyre Fitter to inspect, fit, repair and replace tyres on motor vehicles. You will use tyre fitting, balancing and inflation equipment, follow safe workshop practices, and provide professional service to a varied customer base.

Task & responsibilities

• Inspect tyres, wheels and rims to identify wear, punctures, damage and the need for repair or replacement.
• Remove and refit tyres from vehicle wheels using pneumatic tyre-changing equipment and appropriate tools.
• Fit and mount new or repaired tyres onto rims, ensuring correct positioning and secure installation.
• Repair punctured and damaged tyres using suitable patching materials and approved repair techniques.
• Balance wheels and tyres using wheel-balancing machinery to ensure smooth rotation and minimise vibration.
• Inflate tyres to the manufacturer's recommended pressure using air compressors and appropriate inflation equipment.
• Remove and reinstall wheels and rims using suitable lifting equipment, jacks and workshop tools.
• Inspect wheels and rims for buckling, dents, kerb damage and other defects that may affect their condition or performance.
• Assist with the removal and refitting of tyres before and after wheel repair, refurbishment, painting and polishing work.
• Prepare wheels and rims for repair and refinishing processes, including cleaning and removing surface contaminants where required.
• Operate tyre-fitting, wheel-balancing and other relevant workshop equipment in accordance with operating procedures.
• Conduct final inspections of fitted tyres and wheels to ensure work meets required quality and safety standards.
• Maintain tools, machinery and workshop equipment in a clean, safe and serviceable condition.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures when handling tyres, lifting wheels and operating workshop machinery.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, repairs undertaken and materials used, as required.

Qualification & experience

• AQF Certificate II or III in a relevant automotive or tyre-fitting area, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum 1–3 years of relevant tyre-fitting experience.
• Practical ability to inspect, fit and repair tyres, and balance wheels.
• Familiarity with tyre-fitting equipment and safe vehicle-lifting practices.
• Ability and willingness to work a minimum of 38 ordinary hours per week, with reasonable additional hours as required by operational needs.
