The Trustee Car Genius Trust T/A Lismore Automotive Service is seeking a skilled and motivated Motor Mechanic to join its growing automotive service team.

This position aligns with Motor Mechanic (General) role  and involves performing a wide range of vehicle servicing, maintenance and diagnostic tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are serviced safely, efficiently and to high professional standards.

As a Repco Authorised Service centre, the workshop services a variety of vehicle makes and models and uses modern diagnostic equipment and high-quality parts to maintain reliability and performance

Task & responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
• Perform routine servicing including oil changes, filters, and fluid checks
• Inspect, repair and replace components such as engines, brakes, suspension and steering systems
• Conduct logbook servicing according to manufacturer specifications
• Perform vehicle safety inspections and roadworthy checks
• Repair or replace worn or defective parts and components
• Carry out air-conditioning servicing and cooling system repairs
• Maintain accurate service records and job documentation
• Test vehicles after repair to ensure proper operation and safety
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and workshop standards

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 1–3 years relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience servicing multiple vehicle brands and models
• Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and engine management systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Valid Australian driver’s licence
