Task & responsibilities

We are looking for qualified tradespeople with skills and experience in either vehicle body and panel repair, automotive spray painting and refinishing, or both disciplines.

Vehicle Body and Panel Repair

• Assess vehicle damage and determine the required repair work.
• Repair and restore damaged vehicle bodies, panels and structural components to a high standard.
• Remove, repair, refit and accurately align panels, doors, bumpers and related fittings.
• Complete repairs efficiently and within quoted timeframes.
• Inspect completed repairs and rectify any defects before refinishing.

Surface Preparation and Spray Painting

• Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, masking and applying primers.
• Mix and colour-match automotive paints to achieve accurate and consistent results.
• Operate spray-painting equipment to apply automotive paints, coatings and finishes.
• Refinish repaired and replacement panels in accordance with manufacturer and factory specifications.
• Inspect completed paintwork and rectify imperfections to achieve the required finish.
• Maintain spray-painting equipment and keep the spray booth and work area clean, organised and safe.

General Workshop Responsibilities

• Work independently and collaboratively with panel beaters, spray painters and other workshop staff.
• Follow workplace safety requirements, manufacturer specifications, repair procedures and quality standards.

Qualification & experience

• Trade qualification as a Vehicle Painter or Panel Beater.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work efficiently and independently
• Own tools and a current Australian driver's licence (preferred)
