Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and restoring damaged vehicle body panels and components in accordance with industry standards and workplace procedures.

Duties:

•    Removing damaged panels, parts, upholstery, and accessories to gain access to repair areas

•    Repairing dents and damaged panels using appropriate tools and techniques

•    Straightening damaged vehicles and components using mechanical and hydraulic equipment

•    Replacing severely damaged sections with new or repaired panels

•    Filling damaged surfaces using plastic fillers and preparing surfaces through filing, grinding, and sanding

•    Cutting and joining replacement sections using welding equipment and metal fabrication techniques

•    Refitting repaired or replacement panels and associated hardware including trims, locks, and fittings

•    Assisting with restoration and repair of custom, vintage, and specialty vehicles where required

•    Supporting preparation work for spray painting and finishing processes as needed

•    Maintaining a clean and safe workshop environment while following workplace health and safety procedures

Qualification & experience

Qualifications:

•    AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training

•    AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)

Experience:

•    Minimum of three years of relevant industry experience as a Panel Beater
