Task & responsibilities

• Detect and diagnose faults in engines, parts, and mechanical systems.
• Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components for inspection and repair.
• Repair and replace worn or defective parts, ensuring components are reassembled according to specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups, to ensure smooth vehicle operation and compliance with environmental standards.
• Reassemble repaired engines and mechanical parts and test them for optimal performance.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and computers to test and adjust mechanical components.
• Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or outline the necessary repairs to achieve roadworthiness.
• Maintain, test, and repair diesel motors, and work on mechanical parts of heavy vehicles, including transmissions, suspension systems, steering mechanisms, and brakes.

Qualification & experience

• Relevant and minimum qualifications required. 
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in diesel motor mechanics.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform maintenance tasks in compliance with pollution and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of using diagnostic software and equipment.
