Join a well-established workshop in Brisbane’s northern suburbs as an experienced Motor Mechanic. This role involves the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and mobile plant, carried out in a workshop environment. It is open to Australian citizens, permanent residents and overseas applicants with suitable experience. Visa sponsorship may be available for the right candidate.


Benefits

Salary: $78,000 – $108,000 + super (approximately $39.50 – $54.65 per hour, based on a 38-hour week), depending on qualifications, skills and work experience.


Task & responsibilities

  • Diagnosing faults in engines, transmissions, drivetrains, steering, suspension and braking systems
  • Carrying out scheduled servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance
  • Removing, repairing and replacing mechanical components and assemblies
  • Conducting engine tuning, adjustments and performance testing
  • Inspecting vehicles and equipment to identify mechanical issues and determine required repairs
  • Using diagnostic tools, manuals and technical information to troubleshoot faults
  • Performing on-site servicing and breakdown repairs where required
  • Ensuring all work complies with safety standards, manufacturer specifications and quality requirements

Qualification & experience

  • Trade qualification (AQF Certificate III or higher) or relevant overseas qualification. Strong hands-on experience required; 3–5+ years’ experience highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated practical experience working with hydraulic systems and fluid power equipment
  • Ability to diagnose faults and work independently in workshop and field service environments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Team-focused approach with good communication skills
