Hastings Deering is looking for an experienced Foreman to join our Brisbane Field Service Team. This is a Permanent, Full-time, Monday to Friday role, leading a team of Field Service Fitters who provide onsite support and maintenance solutions across Southeast Queensland. In this role, you'll play a critical part in delivering safe, efficient, and responsive service to our customers while supporting the development and performance of a highly skilled mobile workforce.

As a Foreman, you will:

  • Lead & Develop Teams - Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to a team of Field Service Fitters, fostering a high-performance and customer focused culture.
  • Drive Safety Excellence - Champion safe work practices and ensure compliance with Hastings Deering and customer site safety requirements.
  • Coordinate Field Resources - Manage technician schedules, labour allocation and field service priorities to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Support Customer Outcomes - Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure equipment issues are resolved quickly and professionally.
  • Provide Technical Guidance - Assist field technicians with complex diagnostics, troubleshooting and failure analysis across a range of Caterpillar equipment.
  • Optimise Service Delivery - Monitor workload, response times and productivity to ensure customer commitments and operational targets are achieved.
  • Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to improve processes, service efficiency, team capability and customer experience.
  • Collaborate Across the Business - Work closely with Service Advisors, Planners, Parts, and other operational teams to deliver seamless customer support.



About You

A successful teammate will have experience in:

  • Trade Qualification & Experience - Trade qualified Diesel Fitter with significant post trade experience working in a field service environment.
  • Industry Background - Experience in mining, construction, heavy earthmoving, or related industries supporting mobile equipment fleets.
  • Leadership Capability - Previous experience leading, coordinating, or mentoring field based teams in a fast paced operational environment.
  • Customer Focus - Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and building trusted customer relationships.
  • Diagnostic Expertise - Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment.
  • Planning & Organisation - Proven ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate resources, and adapt to changing customer requirements.
  • Communication Skills - Highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage technicians, customers, and internal teams.
  • Systems & Technology - Strong computer literacy, with experience using service management and ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX being highly regarded.
