Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnose electrical and electronic faults in vehicles using specialised testing equipment and diagnostic software.
• Remove, inspect, and refit electrical wiring, control units, and electronic assemblies to identify and rectify faults.
• Install and configure vehicle electrical systems, components, and electronic equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Connect and integrate electrically powered vehicle accessories and systems to appropriate power sources and control units.
• Adjust and calibrate engine management systems, including timing and electronic control settings, to ensure optimal performance.
• Test, repair, or replace electrical components such as alternators, starter motors, generators, and voltage regulators.
• Repair or replace defective ignition systems, wiring looms, switches, lighting systems, and related electrical components.
• Replace faulty consumable electrical parts including fuses, globes, relays, and switches as required.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards, manufacturer requirements, and relevant licensing or registration obligations.

Skills & Experience Required:

• AQF certificate III or certificate IV qualification in Automotive Electrical Technology 
• 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience working on automotive electrical and electronic systems
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills using modern test equipment
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals
