European Vehicle Specialist Mechanic

We are seeking someone who has knowledge and are truly passionate about working with European vehicles, in particular have knowledge of Land Rovers, Jaguar, Volkswagen / Audi Group and BMW - Mercedes experience will also be a big plus! You must also be committed to delivering exceptional standards and customer service.

Long Jetty Mechanical is seeking a skilled automotive technician to join our dedicated team. If you have working rights currently and are prepared to come and work here for a short while, to see if this is the right fit for you then Sponsorship may be offered.

At Long Jetty Mechanical, we take pride in our expertise with European vehicles and our commitment to excellence. Our workshop specialises in complex diagnostics and repairs across European makes and models, handling everything from timing belt/chain replacements to transmission and differential overhauls.

The Opportunity:

In your role as a Vehicle Technician, you will be authorised and responsible for the following on all European makes and models of car.

Conducting full examinations of vehicles (including vehicle health checks);
Identify non-routine defects and faults either in the workshop or during vehicle road tests;
Technical knowledge to confidently and safely carry out repairs and maintenance of customer vehicles
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and a passion for fixing things right the first time
Perform complex diagnostic testing and repairs on vehicles and be competent and confident with all repairs including replacement of timing chains, engine replacements and any other work required to be completed.
repair and servicing of customer vehicles in accordance with technical standards;
Provide a knowledgeable, courteous, responsive, and efficient service to all colleagues and workshop customers;
Work closely with the front of house service team, ensuring they are kept informed of the progress on customer vehicles and are fully briefed on work completed;
Discuss technical issues/works directly with customers when requested;
Offer technical advice and support as required
Work with the wider workshop team to design and implement new methods of work to improve efficiency

About You:

You will need to be an experienced Vehicle Technician who is passionate and cares about their workmanship.

Have Light Vehicle Automotive Qualification (Trade Certificate) / Level 3 / or Equiviant
Current C class manual drivers licence
Physically fit and able to meet manual requirements
Ability to work within defined processes and guidelines, and to promote best practice throughout the workshop;
Be customer focused, possess good communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to a non-technical audience;
Have a first-time fix mentality, along with openness and transparency.
Committed to the development of your technical knowledge and skills;
Be a team player, whether mentoring or supporting other Technicians;
Have a passion for the industry and a desire to succeed.

We have a heavy focus on repairing Land-Rovers, Jaguars, VAG AUTO GROUP(VW, Audi, Bentley etc), BMW and Skoda make and Model Cars - must have senior experience, with at least 5+ years qualified working with all of some of the Makes mentioned - Mercedes experience would also be a positive. We do not work on other makes or models of car, so if you have not had experience in these brands, this is not the right opportunity for you.
