Task & responsibilities

• Identify and diagnose mechanical faults in engines and related components.
• Disassemble and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other vehicle parts for inspection.
• Repair or replace worn and defective components, following technical manuals as needed during reassembly.
• Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to enhance vehicle performance and meet environmental standards.
• Reassemble engines and related parts after completing repairs.
• Test and fine-tune mechanical systems post-repair to ensure optimal performance.
• Inspect vehicles and, where authorised, issue roadworthy certificates or outline required repairs to meet roadworthiness standards.
• Use computerised diagnostic tools to assess the condition and functionality of vehicle systems.
• Assisting with ordering spare parts according to work required
• Follow Safety procedures at all times
• Advise customers on work performed, general vehicle conditions and future repair requirements

Qualification & experience

• Relevant or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills
• Ability to read and follow technical manuals
• Australian driver’s licence
