About the Role

As Duty Lead, you will be the on-shift commander of Powerlink’s Security Operations Centre, responsible for real-time security operations, incident coordination and operational discipline across a statewide critical-infrastructure footprint.

Reporting to the Manager, Security Operations – Powerlink, you will operate as the designated Duty Lead and 2IC, leading specialist teams and coordinating emergency responses during security, safety and operational events.

This role directly supports Powerlink’s obligations under the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) Act and plays a central role in protecting assets that Queensland relies on every day.

What you’ll be doing

· Acting as the senior operational authority on shift within a 24/7 SOC

· Leading complex security and emergency incidents from triage through to resolution

· Coordinating with emergency services, Powerlink Protective Security and field teams

· Maintaining situational awareness across substations, facilities and remote assets

· Enforcing disciplined shift handovers, task management and reporting

· Monitoring roster integrity, time & attendance and fatigue risks

· Leading, mentoring and setting the standard for SOC personnel

This is a role where judgement, calm authority and operational discipline are essential.

You will bring strong experience in:

· Security Operations Centres or equivalent high-risk, centralised control rooms

· Incident command and decision-making under pressure

· Leading peers and specialist operators in 24/7 environments

· Working within regulated or critical-infrastructure settings

Backgrounds in energy, utilities, defence, policing, emergency management or Tier-1 SOC environments are highly regarded.

Mandatory requirements include:

· Queensland Security Licence (Monitoring & Unarmed)

· Queensland Security Advisor Licence

· Ability to obtain or hold AGSVA Baseline clearance

· Senior First Aid & CPR
