WEST AUS TYRES AND AUTO PTY LTD is seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic (General) to join our professional workshop team. We are looking for a motivated individual with strong diagnostic and repair skills who is committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and road testing techniques.
• Conduct scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and logbook servicing in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Repair and overhaul petrol and diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials and associated drivetrain components.
• Inspect, test and repair steering, suspension and braking systems to ensure safe vehicle operation.
• Remove, dismantle, repair, replace and reassemble defective mechanical components and vehicle systems.
• Carry out repairs to engine management, ignition, fuel injection and cooling systems.
• Perform wheel alignments, balancing and other mechanical adjustments where required.
• Test vehicle performance after repairs to ensure faults have been rectified and vehicles meet manufacturer and safety standards.
• Replace worn or damaged parts and components using appropriate tools and workshop equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records and complete repair documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organised and efficient workshop while delivering exceptional customer service.

Essential Requirements

• AQF Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.
• At least two years of relevant post-qualification work experience, or a minimum of three years of relevant experience where permitted.
• Strong knowledge of petrol and diesel vehicle systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical faults.
• Experience using modern automotive diagnostic equipment.
• Sound understanding of Australian workplace health and safety practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current driver's licence preferred.
