About the role

S F Flooring is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Flooring Assistant to join our team in Canberra, ACT 2600. As a part-time role, this position will involve supporting our experienced flooring professionals in all aspects of installation, maintenance, and repair of various flooring materials.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with the installation of hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and carpet flooring
• Preparing and cleaning work surfaces in preparation for flooring installation
• Moving and transporting flooring materials and equipment as needed
• Providing support to the lead flooring technicians during the installation process
• Maintaining a clean and organised work environment throughout the project
• Participating in the ongoing maintenance and repair of installed flooring

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a labourer or assistant role within the trades and services industry, preferably in flooring installation
• A keen eye for detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
• Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy materials
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• A commitment to workplace health and safety
