Task & responsibilities

- Diagnose mechanical problems and dismantle other vehicle components to evaluate wear and damage.

- Repair or replace faulty or worn-out parts, following service manuals and industry standards.

- Carry out routine maintenance, such as oil changes, lubrication and engine tune-ups, to enhance performance and comply with emissions regulations.

- Work with supervision to reassembling engines and components, ensuring proper fitting and thorough testing of all parts.

- Keep accurate records of work completed, parts used and customer service reports.

- Follow all workshop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised work area.

- Explain vehicle issues and repair options to customers, offering clear cost estimates and maintenance recommendations.

- Use diagnostic equipment and tools to identify mechanical issues and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.

- Test and adjust mechanical components after repair to ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently.

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology and Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis.
• 1-3 year of hands-on experience in a Motor Mechanic role.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and efficiency.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
