Wholesale and Trade Service Assistant

The Whiteheads Timber Sales group operates a mid-sized softwood saw mill supplying wholesale markets with 4 trade outlets across SA and Victoria. Whiteheads have developed a strong presence in the local timber industry, built around a reputation for providing dependable and effective customer service levels and consistent quality products while maintaining a safe workplace.

 

Whiteheads Timber Sales is looking for a Wholesale and Trade service assistant. This is a full-time position including rostered Saturday mornings.

 

We are looking for the right person who is focused on safety and teamwork while enjoying a hands-on customer service approach.

 

Duties and responsibilities: 

• Managing aspects of the store, front end and back end.

• Weekly stock updates

• Ensure all stock areas are kept tidy, clean and in a safe and organised condition.

• Flagged items for restocking

• Other duties include general administration, cleaning, packing or preparing items for trade, as required

 

Key Attributes include:

• Willing to work reasonable overtime.

• Have excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to work within a team and be able to communicate effectively.

• Understand the importance of workplace health & safety.

• Being able to handle cash and EFTPOS transactions at point of sale.

• Being able to understand and follow up on customer requests and convert them to sales in a timely manner.

• Good written and oral communication skills.

• Good problem-solving skills.

• Experience in MYOB computing systems.

• Have knowledge of timber sizing.

• A Forklift License is desirable.
