The Opportunity

A great opportunity has arisen in our Bayswater Trade Counter for a casual, experienced Customer Service / Trade Desk Sales person.

You will have previous sales experience using P.O.S and experience with cash handling. Your ability to build strong relationships with customers within the residential building industry will see you succeed in this dynamic role, having a passion for outstanding customer service. This role will also incorporate sales as well as quoting. 

About the Role

Working at the trade counter, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers — providing advice, processing orders, preparing quotes, and ensuring orders are accurately picked, staged, and ready on time. You’ll work closely with warehouse and sales teams to keep operations running smoothly and customers coming back.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver friendly, professional service at the trade counter

Provide product advice and solutions across timber and hardware ranges

Process sales transactions, quotes, and account payments accurately

Manage customer orders and pick-up coordination

Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell where appropriate

Monitor stock availability and support stock control activities

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe trade counter environment

Work collaboratively with warehouse and sales teams

About You

Previous experience in trade counter, internal sales, or similar role

Strong knowledge of timber, hardware, or construction products

Confident communicator with a customer-first mindset

Comfortable using POS systems and basic computer applications

High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)

Physically capable of working in a hands-on trade environment
