Electrical Trades Person, Rotating Machines, Dynelec

About the Role

In our pursuit of expansion under the guidance of our skilled Leadership Team, we are currently seeking an Electrical Trades Person to become a valuable member of our Rotating Machines Team situated in Unanderra (Wollongong).

The primary responsibility of this role is to perform testing, servicing, overhauling, and rebuilding of electric motors. Our rotating machinery services cover both workshop and on-site support, including inspection, alignment, balancing, load testing, repairs, mechanical and electrical overhauls, rewinds, as well as removal, installation, planned maintenance and addressing breakdowns.

We are skilled in working with AC and DC machines across low and high voltage ranges, and hold accreditation for servicing Explosion Protected equipment.

Responsibilities

Utilising your expertise in Electrical Trade, your responsibilities will include:

• Inspecting, testing, and diagnosing machinery faults

• Providing guidance and, when necessary, performing mechanical disassembly

• Identifying and sourcing components for replacement

• Executing mechanical and electrical rebuilds

• Participating in motor rewinding processes

• Conducting rotor and armature balancing

• Performing load testing and vibration analysis

• Removing and reinstalling machines at customer sites

• Carrying out laser alignment procedures

• Participating in onsite activities, including but not limited to downtimes, switchboard maintenance, installation of electrical equipment, test tagging, and undertaking on-site motor maintenance such as brush replacements.

• Preparing incoming jobs for winding, including coil winding, motor rewinding, vacuum varnishing, baking, and reassembly

• Completing routine tasks related to the Electrical Fitter trade in accordance with AS/NZS 3000 standards

• Following established procedures to ensure accurate product identification and traceability

• Inspecting and verifying measuring and testing equipment using calibrated master instruments

• Carrying out standard duties associated with the Electrical Fitter role

• Ensuring compliance with ISO9001, ISO45001, and AS3800 standards

• Performing repair, maintenance, and overhaul of flameproof (Explosion Protected) machinery and equipment

• Accurately completing all associated work records

• Adhering to the company's Safe Systems of Work protocols 

Pre-requisites

• Licenced Electrical Fitter Mechanic (Electricial Trade)

• White Card

• Driver's licence

• Experience in fault finding and testing

• 5 Years' experience as an industrial electrician

• Effective interpersonal & communication skills

• Ability to work independently, as well in a team environment

• As our market includes Defense, Mining & Marine, Medical & Police checks will be requested.

• Permanent Residency or Citizenship within Australia
