Wangaratta Four-Wheel Drive Center is seeking a reliable, qualified mechanic with particular experience working on 4 Wheel Drive vehicles to join their team on a full-time basis in Wangaratta 3677.

This position suits someone with solid automotive mechanic skills with strong commitment to quality workmanship and customer service. The candidate must have at least 2 years experience working as a mechanic.

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 + superannuation

Task & responsibilities

• General mechanical repairs and servicing of 4WD vehicles, sedans, SUV’s, including brake, suspension, and drivetrain work.
• Removing, repairing and replacing damaged vehicle parts.
• Diagnosis, repair and troubleshooting faults using workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Installation and maintenance of ARB and other 4WD accessories such as bull bars, roof racks, winches, suspension systems, and driving lights.
• Performing pre‑delivery inspections and basic electrical work on vehicles.
• Advising customers on maintenance and suitable 4WD equipment, and keeping accurate service records in a safe workshop environment. 

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
• At least two years proven experience working as an automotive mechanic.
• Experience working on 4WD Vehicles
• Diagnostic skills – ability to identify faults and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues
• Ability to perform maintenance and repairs on automotive vehicles
• General automotive knowledge
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Driver licence
