About the role

Griffiths Butchery is seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our team in Griffith, ACT. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for the full range of butchery duties, from meat preparation and cutting to customer service . This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to work in a well-established and respected local business.

This full-time role includes Monday to Friday, plus Saturday morning work, with rotating shifts across our trading hours

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing and cutting a variety of meats, including beef, lamb, pork and poultry, to customer specifications

2. Providing excellent customer service, offering product recommendations and advice

3. Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations

4. Collaborating with the team to ensure efficient and smooth daily operations

What we're looking for

1. Relevant qualifications and experience as a Butcher, (completed 3 yr Apprenticeship or above), with a strong understanding of meat cutting, preparation, and handling. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to provide knowledgeable advice to customers

2. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene

3. Ability to work well in a team and contribute to the overall success of the business

4. Flexible and adaptable, able to handle the demands of a busy retail environment
