About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Apprentice Butcher to join our team at Strath Hill Butcher in Bendigo. This is a full-time, hands-on role where you’ll gain valuable skills and experience working alongside our experienced butchers, setting you on the path to becoming fully qualified.

What you’ll be doing

·       Assisting with meat preparation – cutting, trimming, and packaging a variety of meats

·       Learning to operate processing equipment and machinery safely

·       Being a full carcass butcher, you’ll gain the unique opportunity to learn the complete butchery process — from breaking down whole bodies of beef, lamb, and pork, through to producing quality cuts, value-added products, and beautifully presented displays

·       Building skills in customer service, stock management, and retail operations

·       Receiving on-the-job training and mentoring to support your apprenticeship journey

What we’re looking for

·       A genuine interest in the butchery trade and eagerness to learn

·       Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail

·       Strong teamwork and customer service skills

·       Physically fit, with the ability to lift and be on your feet for extended periods
