Sidhu Motor Works is a professional automotive workshop based in Truganina, Victoria, specialising in mechanical repairs and vehicle maintenance across all aspects of automotive servicing. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our growing team. This role is suited to a motivated individual with strong technical expertise and the ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics to identify faults across mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle systems.

• Evaluate vehicle condition through detailed inspections and determine required repair and maintenance work.

• Strip down and examine engines, transmissions and other critical systems to locate defects and assess wear and damage.

• Carry out repairs, rebuilds or component replacements in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workshop standards.

• Complete routine servicing tasks including oil and filter changes, fluid replacements, lubrication and general tune-ups.

• Service and repair key vehicle systems such as brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems and clutches.

• Reassemble vehicle components after repairs and conduct operational testing to confirm performance and reliability.

• Undertake additional workshop tasks such as tyre servicing, battery replacement and general mechanical upkeep.

• Utilise specialised workshop tools and equipment, including those used for exhaust system repairs and custom modifications.

• Accurately record all work performed, including diagnostics, parts used and repairs completed.

• Adhere to workplace health and safety policies while maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment.

• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of jobs.

• Provide clear and professional updates to customers regarding vehicle issues and recommended repairs.

• Continuously build knowledge of new vehicle technologies, systems and industry best practices.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. At least one year of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic. 
2. Minimum AQF Certificate III, IV or Diploma in Automotive Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification. 
3. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with experience using modern diagnostic tools. 
4. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment. 
5. Good communication and customer service skills. 
6. Reliable, hardworking and self-motivated attitude. 
7. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 
8. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes. 

Remuneration:

This is a full-time position (minimum 38 hours per week). Salary range is $70,000 to $80,000 plus Superannuation, depending on skills and experience of the successful candidate.
