Nudgee Automotive Services is seeking a qualified and experienced full-time Motor Mechanic to join its workshop team in Northgate, Queensland 4013. The role involves carrying out vehicle servicing, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair work in accordance with manufacturer specifications, dealership procedures, and workplace safety standards.
The business provides comprehensive automotive services including logbook servicing, diagnostics, mechanical repairs, brake and clutch repairs, suspension and steering repairs, transmission servicing, wheel alignments, auto electrical diagnostics, and safety inspections. Task & responsibilities
The role includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:
- Perform vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications, repair procedures, and workshop directions.
- Test, inspect, and check all completed repairs prior to vehicle handover or test driving to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Seek guidance from the Workshop Controller or Technical Manager where required regarding diagnosis, repairs, or technical matters.
- Follow manufacturer and dealership procedures when undertaking warranty repairs, including the correct handling, tagging, and storage of displaced parts.
- Complete repair orders accurately, clearly, and in accordance with dealership and warranty requirements.
- Record all completed work, including condition, cause, and correction details, and ensure accurate clocking on and off repair jobs.
- Maintain productivity and efficiency targets while ensuring a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
- Identify and report any additional repairs, servicing requirements, or safety concerns to the Workshop Controller or Service Advisor.
- Adhere to dealership procedures for obtaining and handling parts, tools, and workshop equipment.
- Participate in in-house training, manufacturer training programs, and service meetings to maintain and develop technical knowledge.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area at all times, including promptly addressing spills or hazards.
- Ensure vehicles are returned in a clean and professional condition, including removing grease marks and restoring seats and settings to their original position.
- Operate vehicles responsibly and comply with all workplace safety procedures and dealership policies.
- Maintain a complete and appropriate personal toolkit necessary for the role.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by the Workshop Controller or Service Manager
Qualification & experience
To be considered for this role, applicants must demonstrate:
- Relevant Certificate IV, or Diploma qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology or a closely related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing, mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and fault-finding procedures.
- Ability to interpret repair orders, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Experience working within a fast-paced automotive workshop environment.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and workshop practices.
- Ability to complete repair documentation accurately and professionally.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team environment.
