Weethalla Pastoral Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel and General Mechanic to join our team on a high-country grazing property located at Avonside in the Snowy Mountains region of NSW. This is an independent role, suitable for a proactive and experienced mechanic, with a background in agricultural environments. You’ll be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, repair and operation of heavy diesel machinery and farm vehicles, and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the property.

Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance, repair and servicing on heavy diesel machinery and farm vehicles.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and vehicles.
• Operate and maintain a range of agricultural machinery, including tractors and earthmoving equipment.
• Assisting in farm day-to-day operations.
• Work independently while maintaining clear communication with the Farm Manager and Owner.

Qualification & experience

What We’re Looking For:

• A relevant qualification as a heavy diesel mechanic, or similar.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a mechanical role.
• Practical experience with heavy diesel machinery.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.
• Reliable, motivated and organised with a high standard of workmanship.
• An interest in rural living.
