Reporting directly to Executive Management, the Quality Assurance Manager holds overarching responsibility for designing, implementing, maintaining, and auditing the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). This critical corporate role bridges technical compliance, food safety governance, supply chain integrity, and team leadership. 

The successful candidate will ensure that all manufactured and distributed food products strictly comply with customer standards, company specifications, and Australian regulatory codes (including HACCP, GMP, SQF etc).

Task & responsibilities

• System Design & Leadership: Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with regulatory, customer, and internal company benchmarks. 
• Standards & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict operational compliance with food safety certifications, including HACCP, GMP, SQF, and relevant Australian Food Standards Codes. 
• Team Management & Capacity Building: Lead, mentor, and manage the Quality Assurance team—overseeing daily workflows, staff training, performance reviews, and competency development. 
• Strategic Quality Objectives: Establish quality policies, measurable KPIs, operating procedures, continuous improvement programs, and risk mitigation strategies. 
• Auditing & Accreditation: Coordinate and lead internal system reviews and manage external audits conducted by certification bodies, regulatory authorities, and key commercial clients. 
• CAPA & Root-Cause Investigation: Investigate non-conformances, quality incidents, and customer complaints; design and execute effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). 
• Product Quality & Verification: Monitor ongoing product quality via raw material testing, processing inspections, trend analysis, and verification protocols. 
• Documentation & Validation Review: Review and sign off on product specifications, validation studies, operating procedures, and technical food safety documentation. 
• Proactive Customer Quality Monitoring: Monitoring Cutomer Feedback, perceptions and satisfaction regarding quality and delivery timelines. 
• Stakeholder & Supplier Liaison: Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Procurement, Executive Leadership, and external suppliers to ensure raw goods and finished products meet precise technical specifications. 
• Data Analytics & Executive Reporting: Analyze quality metrics, implement statistical quality tools, and present suitability reports to senior management to drive operational efficiency and safety. 

Qualification & experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. 
• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of full time highly relevant experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Systems Management within a food manufacturing or processing environment. 
• Technical Mastery: In-depth working knowledge of HACCP, SQF, and Australian Food Safety Regulations. 
• Leadership Capabilities: Demonstrated experience in managing QA teams, leading certification deployments, and executing root-cause analyses. 
• Communication Skills: Exceptional stakeholder liaison capabilities across senior executive, production floor, and supplier levels.
