Task & responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using specialised diagnostic equipment.
• Performing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on company vehicles.
• Inspecting, testing, repairing, and replacing engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking systems, and other mechanical components.
• Conducting repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
• Removing, repairing, replacing, and reassembling defective vehicle parts and components.
• Performing road tests and final inspections to ensure vehicles are safe and operating efficiently.
• Maintaining accurate service records and reporting repair requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety procedures.
• Maintaining workshop equipment and keeping the workshop clean and organised.
• Working collaboratively with the operations and workshop teams to minimise vehicle downtime.

Qualification & experience

Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent qualification. 

2–3 years of relevant full-time post-qualification experience as a Motor Mechanic. 

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities. 

Experience servicing and repairing light vehicles and/or commercial vehicles. 

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
