A little about us; 

We service A LARGE FLEET of over 200 vehicles, of all sizes ranging from 1 Tonne trays and vans to 22 Tonne semi-trailers, which work throughout the Melbourne metropolitan and Vic country areas, catering to the transport requirements of over 400 customers. 

With our recent expansion into the Sydney, Adelaide and Queensland markets, we are looking for the next critical piece in our Dispatch team to come on board and join us on our journey.

Your new role 

We are on the lookout for a Fleet Controller/Radio Operator to join our Taxi Truck Division in the Southeast of Melbourne on a full-time basis. 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the schedules of a range of vehicles, predominantly AD-Hoc around Melbourne, acting as the first point of contact for drivers as you liaise between drivers, customers and warehouse staff. 

Your key responsibilities will include: 

Planning, allocating and overseeing pick-ups/deliveries to achieve efficient and effective fleet maximization. 

Overseeing pre-allocations for the following day. 

Contributing to growing the fleet. 

Building and maintaining relationships with drivers, customers, and warehouse staff. 

Maintaining knowledge of vehicles and their capabilities; and 

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including fatigue management and load restraint requirements. 

About You 

To be successful you will need demonstrate experience in a similar fleet/dispatch related role or show the strong attributes required for this role. 

Our transport is within Melbourne and greater areas, so a thorough knowledge of the local Metro area will be crucial in arranging the best routes possible for your fleet. 

Handling high volume requests, you'll be confident, think on your feet and have the strong problem-solving skills needed to adapt quickly to any new or changing priorities as the day progresses. 

You'll also have excellent communication skills and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, comfortable juggling the needs of your drivers and clients to get great results for everyone involved.
