Position Summary

-Manage daily quality and food safety requirements meeting company, retailer and legislative requirements.

-Maintain site quality management systems including HACCP plan certification and compliance. Be alert to any issues that may impact finished product integrity (food safety, legality and quality) or personnel safety and address any issues as they arise.

-Liaise with production, warehouse, maintenance, OHS and all teams on site

-Strive for continuous improvement.

Position Key Responsibilities

-Assist in investigation of consumer and customer complaints, identifying root cause and corrective and preventative actions

-Manage documentation and investigation of non-conformances raised on site, identifying root cause and corrective and preventative actions and timely close out

-Assist with improving Good Manufacturing Practices

-Reduce foreign objects and roll out new initiatives

-Complete internal audits and verification activities as per schedule and organise corrective action and preventative action as appropriate in a timely manner. Internal audits include but are not limited to: bucket (foreign object) walks, GMP, Glass and Clear Hard plastic audits, knife audits, other documentation and process audits

-Assist with managing HACCP pre-requisite programs

-Document procedures and / or work instructions that ensure production of consistently safe and legal product with the desired quality characteristics in full compliance with the HACCP food safety plan

-Conduct Quality Food Safety training and competency assessment of production and site teams as required. This includes identifying necessary competencies for specific roles providing training or demonstration to ensure staff have the necessary competencies and review effectiveness of training, including by observation required

-Conduct validation activities as required

-Assist managing product testing

-Assist with new product launches and post launch reviews

-Assist with maintaining quality management system including HACCP plan and site registers

-Assist with managing Critical Control and Critical Quality Point compliance

-Assist with maintenance of product labelling and product packaging standards

-Ensure product quality compliance

-Assist with implementing and maintaining process controls

-Strive for continuous improvement

-Assist with group quality and food new initiatives as required

-Participate in and promote a culture that adheres to the highest quality, GMP and food safety standards

Qualification & experience

Qualifications, (eg. Tertiary, trade):

-Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry, Food Technology, Cereal Chemistry, Microbiology or Biochemistry or other quality assurance related discipline.

Experience (Technical and Behavioral):

- Experience with HACCP, GMP, ISO and other certifications such as BRC.

- At least 3 years’ experience in a Quality profession.

- Experience in quality and food safety standards such as CFMSR, WSE, BRC & HACCP

- Experienced working in a food manufacturing environment

Business/Technical Skills, (eg. computing, negotiating, leadership, project management)

- Excellent report writing skills

- Good communication skills

- Highly organised

- Passionate about quality and food safety

- Seeking a career path in quality and food safety

- Works well in a team environment and autonomously when required

- Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Office, databases and document control systems).
