We’re looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Officer to own food-safety and quality assurance activities across the site. This operational role will maintain compliance to FSSC 22000, lead risk assessments and audits, and provide clear compliance reporting to the Management Team — helping ensure our products meets customer, regulatory and certification requirements.

Key responsibilities

·         Daily production floor quality checks (pre-op, post-op, cleaning).

·         Monitor CCPs/QCPs and maintain HACCP compliance.

·         Collect and prepare micro & retention samples; support batch validation.

·         Conduct GMP, HACCP and QMS internal audits; support external audits.

·         Maintain QMS documentation to meet FSSC 22000 and customer supplier standards.

·         Prepare and present regular FSSC 22000 compliance reports to the Management Team, including KPI tracking, non-conformance trends, and escalation of critical issues.

·         Conduct regular risk assessments including internal audits, HACCP evaluations, and Food Defence and Food Fraud assessments.

·         Investigate complaints, coordinate corrective actions and recommend process improvements.

·         Support training and induction for production staff.

Qualification & experience

Skills & experience (must-haves)

Proven QA/QC experience in food manufacturing (minimum 3 years preferred).

Strong working knowledge of FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP and audit practices.

Experience with risk assessments, Food Defence and Food Fraud frameworks.

Excellent report writing and stakeholder communication skills (management reporting).

Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to work on the production floor and engage teams.
