We are currently seeking to employ a Production Technician to assist with the assembly of Power Solutions products, and with customising trucks to meet the special-order needs of our customers.

The work will include:

• Providing technical support performing assembly work for Power Solutions products
• Assembling dual control steering systems into trucks e.g. for waste collection
• Adding tag-axles to trucks, to enable the carrying of heavier loads
• Installing additional electrical and electronic control systems
• Performing other automotive assembly and general workshop duties
• Supporting the production scheduling, logistics, quality control and troubleshooting activities
• Assisting with delivering on-the-job training, in conjunction with the Production Manager, for production support staff in manufacturing processes including second stage manufacturing
• Providing a leadership and mentoring role to production assistants

All work is performed on new products (engines and trucks), prior to delivery to customers.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• At least 5 years’ experience working in a similar position (e.g.  vehicle assembly)
• A certificate III or higher in vehicle or mechanical technology (e.g. qualified motor mechanic)
• Demonstrated attention to detail
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop good relationships within your work team
• A strong work ethic and commitment to producing high quality work
• A knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S would be an advantage 
• A forklift licence and/or heavy truck licence would be an advantage
