We are seeking an experienced Metal Machinist (First Class) to join the Employer's team. 

The role involves precision machining, manual lathe work, CNC programming and operation, and producing components to a high standard.


Benefits

  • Hourly rate: $40–$50 + superannuation. Annual equivalent: $79,040 – $98,800 + superannuation (based on a 38‑hour work week)
  • Full‑time permanent position

Task & responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and operate CNC and manual machines (including manual lathes, milling machines, and grinders).
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs to produce precision components.
  • Perform quality checks and measurements to ensure compliance with required tolerances.
  • Carry out routine maintenance of machines and ensure safe workshop practices.
  • Collaborate with the production team to optimise workflows and improve manufacturing processes.

Qualification & experience

  • Skill Level: Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven, hands-on experience operating manual lathes.
  • Proven experience in CNC machining and programming (milling, turning, 3‑5 axis operations).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of precision measuring tools and ISO quality standards.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems and components will be highly regarded.
  • Welding and fabrication skills are desirable but not essential.
