Are you a skilled Manual Machinist looking for an exciting opportunity in Seven Hills, Sydney? HMPS Propac is seeking a dedicated and hands-on individual to join our Manufacturing team. This permanent, full-time role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic workshop environment, contributing to the production of high-quality machinery and components.

About the Role
As a Manual Machinist at HMPS Propac, you will play a key role in our workshop operations, focusing on manual machining while supporting CNC processes when required. You will be involved in producing precision components and maintaining high standards of workmanship across all tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate manual lathes and manual milling machines to manufacture components
  • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine machining requirements
  • Perform drilling, grinding, and machining tasks with a high level of accuracy
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure components meet specifications
  • Assist with CNC machining operations when required
  • Maintain machinery and ensure a clean, safe working environment
  • Support and mentor apprentices where applicable
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations

Skills and Experience

  • Trade-qualified Manual Machinist (or similar) with proven workshop experience
  • Strong experience operating a manual lathe and a manual mill
  • Exposure to CNC machining (programming/operation) is advantageous
  • Experience with gun drilling operations is highly regarded
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machining issues
  • Willingness to support and train apprentices
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
