The Role: 

Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and components, with a strong focus on Japanese imported vehicle.

• Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other critical components for inspection, servicing, or replacement in accordance with Australian automotive standards.
• Repairing and replacing defective or worn mechanical parts and reassembling components using technical manuals, including those for Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicles.
• Conducting scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, engine tune-ups, filter replacements, and lubrication to maintain optimal vehicle performance and ensure compliance with Australian Design Rules (ADRs) and emissions regulations. 
• Reassembling engines and mechanical systems post-repair, performing tests and adjustments to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency.
• Utilizing diagnostic computers and scanning tools to identify and test faults in electronic and mechanical systems, particularly for Japanese import models.
• Inspecting vehicles to determine roadworthiness, identifying non-compliant modifications, and carrying out required work to meet state and national registration standards.
• Acting as a Japanese Import Compliance Specialist for Import Revolutions, managing compliance inspections, modifications, and certification processes to ensure that imported Japanese vehicles meet all Australian legal and technical standards, including vehicle identity checks, emissions, lighting, and safety systems.  
• Interpreting Japanese service documentation, wiring diagrams, and specifications to accurately service and modify vehicles for the Australian market

Qualifications and Experience: 

• Fully qualified with relevant Trade Certification in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle or equivalent)
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on industry experience working with a variety of vehicles, including Japanese imports 
• Proven experience across a broad range of mechanical and electrical systems 
• Experience working with Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicles is highly advantageous

Licensing: 

• Current Australian Driver’s License (manual preferred)
