WE ARE HIRING – Licensed Commercial & Industrial Gasfitter (I-Class)

GENEX ENERGY is scaling its commercial and industrial combustion capability. We require a Licensed I-Class Gasfitter with proven commercial and industrial combustion experience.

Position Overview

You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, regulatory compliance, and fault diagnostics of commercial and industrial gas-fired plant and equipment, including (not limited to):

• Thermal oil heaters

• Steam boilers and hot water generators

• Kilns, ovens, furnaces, carbon regeneration systems

• Waste-gas flares and process thermal systems

• Gas engines and gas turbines

• Type-B and engineered combustion systems

• LPG/Natural gas distribution, burners, control trains, regulators, SIS interfaces

This role is hands-on and compliance-driven, with direct interaction with OEMs, gas inspectors, and mining/processing clients.

Preferred Requirements

• Current WA I-Class Gasfitter Permit

• Demonstrable competence in:

  • Burner management systems and combustion control

  • AS3814, AS1375, AS5601, AS3000 compliance

  • Reading and interpreting P&IDs, electrical schematics, valve train layouts, logic diagrams

• Strong computer skills and the ability to write reports

• High diagnostic capability on mechanical, electrical, and fuel-gas systems

• Able to travel as required across Western Australia mining, refining, manufacturing, and energy sites

• Type-B design and certification exposure

• SIS / F&G interfacing experience (Honeywell, Yokogawa, Schneider, Allen-Bradley)

• PLC burner control logic understanding

• Electrical Licence, instrumentation experience
