Benefits

Salary: $78,000 – $108,000 + super (approximately $39.50 – $54.65 per hour, based on a 38-hour week), depending on qualifications, skills and work experience.

This role is open to Australian citizens, permanent residents and eligible overseas applicants. For the right eligible overseas applicant, visa sponsorship visa may be available.


Task & responsibilities

  • Dismantle, repair and reassemble engines, gearboxes, drivelines and associated components
  • Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, oil changes and tune-ups
  • Test, adjust and calibrate repaired components to manufacturer specifications
  • Attend breakdowns and emergency repairs to minimise vehicle downtime
  • Manufacture and fit hydraulic hoses and ancillary equipment where required
  • Maintain accurate digital job cards, comply with WHS procedures, and keep the workshop safe and organised

Qualification & experience

  • Trade qualification: AQF Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Mobile Plant Technology, or equivalent overseas trade qualification
  • Strong hands-on experience as a diesel motor mechanic is required, with preference given to candidates with three (3) to five (5) years’ hands-on experience in heavy vehicle environments
  • Experience using diagnostic scan tools and electronic service manuals
  • Basic computer skills for digital job cards and parts catalogues
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and customer service
  • HR licence and hydraulic-hose manufacturing experience (highly regarded)
