Roof Inspector – Insurance Building Industry

Claim Safe Australia is seeking an experienced, reliable and motivated Roof Inspector to join our growing team across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

This is a full-time position suited to someone with a strong roofing background who is confident completing detailed roof inspections, hail damage assessments, water ingress investigations and professional insurance reports.

The successful applicant will attend residential and commercial properties, inspect roofing systems, document their findings, identify damage and maintenance issues, and provide clear recommendations for required repairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete detailed inspections of tiled and metal roofing systems.

  • Conduct hail damage assessments.

  • Identify storm-related damage, including cracked, chipped, displaced or damaged roof tiles and roof sheeting.

  • Identify hail impacts to roof sheeting, tiles, gutters, flashings, vents and associated roof components.

  • Investigate potential causes of internal and external water ingress.

  • Distinguish between storm damage, hail damage, maintenance issues, general wear and tear, installation defects and poor workmanship.

  • Inspect roof penetrations, valleys, ridge capping, bedding, pointing, flashings, gutters and downpipes.

  • Take clear and detailed site photographs.

  • Complete accurate and professional roof inspection reports.

  • Provide repair recommendations and scopes for further works.

  • Communicate professionally with customers, builders, insurers and the Claim Safe Australia team.

  • Complete minor make-safe works where required.

  • Use company software and mobile applications to upload photographs, reports and site information.

  • Manage daily appointments and travel between allocated jobs.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous roofing, roof inspection, hail assessment or insurance building experience.

  • Has knowledge of tiled and metal roofing systems.

  • Understands common causes of roof leaks and water ingress.

  • Can identify storm damage, hail damage, maintenance issues and installation defects.

  • Has excellent attention to detail.

  • Can prepare clear and accurate reports.

  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Is confident using mobile phones, laptops, tablets and reporting applications.

  • Has a professional and respectful approach when dealing with customers.

  • Can work independently and manage a daily schedule.

  • Has a strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

  • Is reliable, motivated and takes pride in their work.

  • Has a positive attitude and is genuinely eager and willing to learn.

  • Wants to develop their skills and grow with the business.

You do not need to know everything from day one. We are willing to invest in the right person through ongoing training, support and professional development. What matters most is that you are reliable, motivated, willing to learn and committed to producing quality work.

Essential Requirements

  • Current Australian driver’s licence.

  • Construction White Card.

  • Ability to safely access and inspect roofs.

  • Full Australian working rights.

Highly Regarded

  • Working at Heights certification.

  • Roofing trade qualification.

  • Carpentry or building experience.

  • Previous insurance building experience.

  • Experience completing hail damage assessments.

  • Experience preparing roof reports, scopes of work or repair recommendations.

What We Offer

  • Full-time employment.

  • Competitive wage depending on experience.

  • Company phone and laptop.

  • Fuel card.

  • Bunnings trade card for approved work-related purchases.

  • Company vehicle provided once you have demonstrated that you are the right long-term fit for the role and the business.

  • Consistent work across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

  • Training in insurance reporting systems, roof assessment processes and company procedures.

  • Ongoing investment in your training, development and career progression.

  • Support from an experienced and growing team.

  • A varied role across residential and commercial insurance works.

  • Upon successful completion of the six-month probationary period, a performance-based bonus structure will be implemented to recognise and reward your quality work and positive contribution to the company.

Claim Safe Australia is a younger, rapidly growing company, which means there is significant opportunity for the right person to grow with us. For someone who is motivated and wants to progress, there is room to move quickly into a leadership or management position if that is the direction you want to take your career.
