The Veterinary Services Regulatory Board of South Australia (VSRBSA) is seeking applications for the role of Premises Inspector, appointed under the Veterinary Services Act 2023 (SA).

This role supports the Board’s regulatory responsibilities by inspecting veterinary premises to ensure compliance with legislative and professional standards.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Officer, the Premises Inspector undertakes inspections of registered veterinary premises across South Australia and provides advice and reports to support regulatory decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct inspections of veterinary premises in accordance with the Veterinary Services Act 2023 (SA)

• Assess compliance with legislative, regulatory, and registration requirements

• Prepare accurate and timely inspection and compliance reports

• Identify areas of non‑compliance and recommend appropriate follow‑up actions

• Liaise professionally with veterinary practitioners, practice staff, and Board representatives

• Support the VSRBSA and the Executive Officer in carrying out regulatory functions

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Experience in clinical inspections, audits, or regulatory compliance

• Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly develop knowledge of, the Veterinary Services Act 2023 (SA) and related legislation

• Previous experience working as an inspector, authorised officer, auditor, or in a similar role

• Strong written reporting and analytical skills

• Professional communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• Sound judgment, independence, and attention to detail
