Task & responsibilities

• Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to improve performance and comply with emission standards.
• Use computer-assisted diagnostic tools to identify and test faults in vehicle systems and components.
• Remove and dismantle engine assemblies, steering systems, transmissions, and other parts for detailed inspection and repair.
• Repair or replace defective and worn components, following service manuals and manufacturer specifications.
• Test and adjust repaired mechanical parts to ensure proper operation and reliability.
• Reassemble engines and mechanical systems after maintenance or repairs are completed.
• Respond to roadside breakdown calls, performing urgent diagnostics and repairs when needed.
• Diagnose both electrical and mechanical issues in engines and related vehicle systems.
• Inspect vehicles to determine roadworthiness and document required repairs or issue certificates where applicable.

Qualification & experience

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
• Minimum 1-3 year of relevant experience 
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Valid driver’s license
• Solid understanding of automotive systems and components
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
