At A1 Mechanical Oakey, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults in vehicle engines and components, dismantling and reassembling engine assemblies, and performing scheduled maintenance services to ensure smooth vehicle operation and compliance with regulations. You will also use computerized diagnostic tools to test and adjust mechanical parts, inspect vehicles for roadworthiness, and respond to breakdown service calls. Task & Responsibilities

Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and related components.
Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other parts for inspection and repair.
Repair or replace worn and defective parts and reassemble mechanical components, referring to service manuals as needed.
Perform scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups, to ensure smoother vehicle operation and compliance with pollution regulations.
Reassemble engines and parts after repairs, ensuring all components are correctly installed.
Test and adjust mechanical parts post-repair to ensure optimal performance.
Diagnose and test parts using computerized diagnostic tools.
Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or provide detailed reports of necessary repairs to achieve roadworthiness.
Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls to assist with on-the-spot repairs and ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualification & Experience

Relevant qualification / Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles.
Strong understanding of engine systems, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and vehicle components.
Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools and service manuals.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Valid driver's license.
