About the Role

The successful applicant will carry out a full range of vehicle refinishing duties, including:

•    Preparing vehicle surfaces by removing rough spots, sanding by hand and with power tools, and cleaning/prepping substrates 

•    Masking areas not being painted using tape, paper, and protective materials 

•    Colour matching and mixing paints to achieve OEM accurate finishes 

•    Applying primers, base coats, and clear coats using spray gun systems; sanding between coats as required 

•    Touching up paintwork, cutting/polishing, and completing final finishing and quality checks 

•    Performing rust proofing or specialty coatings where applicable 

•    Maintaining spray booths, tools, and equipment in line with WHS requirements

Skills & Experience Required

•    Relevant trade skills aligned with Vehicle Painter

•    Demonstrated experience in surface prep, spray painting, colour matching, and final finishing

•    Strong understanding of automotive paint systems (water borne/solvent based)

•    Ability to work independently and within a busy team environment

•    High attention to quality, safety, and detail

Qualifications

•    Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology or at least 3 years of relevant experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 3 requirement) 

Salary range is $75,000-$85,000pa commensurate with skills and experience.
