We are seeking a highly skilled Welder to assist our team to fabricate, assemble and repair vehicle metal structures, components and equipment using various welding techniques. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of welds according to industry standards and project specifications.

Task & Responsibilities

Duties 

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures to understand job requirements.
• Select, clean, and prepare metal stock for welding, including cutting, shaping, and beveling edges.
• Operate various welding equipment safely and efficiently, such as arc welders, MIG welders, TIG welders, and oxy-fuel torches.
• Set up welding machines and adjust parameters based on material thickness, joint type, and welding procedure.
• Perform different welding techniques to join metal components, including butt welds, fillet welds, lap welds, and corner welds.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper weld penetration and quality by visually inspecting welds and conducting non-destructive testing (if required).
• Grind, smooth, and finish welds to meet aesthetic and functional requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols for welding operations.
• May operate cutting machines (plasma, laser) and bending equipment to prepare metal stock.
• May assist in the assembly and disassembly of metal structures.
• May perform basic maintenance on welding equipment.

Qualification & experience

Qualification & Experience

• AQF Certificate III in Metal Fabrication or a relevant trade qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Welder or in a related field.
• Proven ability to operate various welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong understanding of welding processes, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Excellent reading and interpretation skills for technical drawings and specifications.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent commication and interpersonal skills.
