About the Role

As a Motor Mechanic at Nepean Auto Work Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for carrying out servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on a variety of passenger and light commercial vehicles. Working as part of a professional and supportive team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality workmanship while ensuring vehicle safety, reliability and customer satisfaction.

Task & responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using manual methods and computerised diagnostic tools.
• Dismantle and remove engines, transmissions, and other components to inspect for damage or wear.
• Repair and replace worn or faulty parts following service manuals and manufacturer guidelines.
• Reassemble mechanical systems and components after repairs to restore proper function.
• Perform scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
• Test and adjust repaired components to ensure proper vehicle performance.
• Use diagnostic equipment to interpret fault codes and resolve system issues.
• Follow service manuals and technical specs for all repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Inspect vehicles for roadworthiness and identify any required repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records for all work performed.

Qualification & experience

• Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
• Qualifications: Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (minimum requirement)
• Qualifications: Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis (highly regarded / preferred)
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a motor mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in using mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management.
