Family Learning & Household Manager

Approximately 3:00pm – 8:00pm Monday–Friday + some weekend hours & occasional evening babysitting

Start: Flexible

About Us

We are a warm, energetic and busy family with four school-aged children heavily involved in sports and extracurricular activities. Our afternoons are active, fast-paced and full — and we're looking for an exceptional Family Learning & Household Manager to help everything run smoothly.

This is not just a childcare role. It's a dynamic position combining learning support, household organisation and after-school coordination. We're seeking someone who enjoys structure, takes initiative, and can become a trusted, steady and capable extra adult in our home.

An Active Role for an Active Person

Our children are sporty and constantly on the move — this role requires someone fit, energetic and active who can confidently keep up with busy school pickups, sports training sessions, packing gear, and the general pace of a lively household.

If you enjoy being on your feet, staying organised, and thrive in an energetic environment, this role will suit you perfectly.

Key Responsibilities

After-School Care & Learning Support

  • School pickups and transport to extracurricular activities (family car provided if required)

  • Preparing healthy after-school snacks

  • Supervising homework, reading and school projects

  • Encouraging organisation, time management and independent learning skills

  • Helping children prepare school bags, uniforms and equipment

  • Managing sports gear and uniforms (washing, packing and preparation)

Household & Routine Management

  • Preparing or assisting with family dinners

  • Kitchen reset and maintaining tidy common areas

  • Laundry cycles for children (school uniforms and sportswear)

  • Packing lunches and preparing for the next school day

  • Resetting spaces to support calm, organised mornings

Family Administration & Organisation

  • Managing school communications, reminders and notices

  • Tracking upcoming school events, camps and activities

  • Assisting with forms, permission slips and admin tasks

  • Ordering school, sports and household supplies

  • Coordinating family calendars and schedules

  • Organising birthday gifts and small errands

Occasional Support

  • Weekend sports transport and support

  • Evening babysitting as required

About You

You are:

  • Highly organised, reliable and proactive

  • Fit, energetic and comfortable keeping up with active, sporty children

  • Calm, confident and capable

  • Comfortable taking responsibility and making independent decisions

  • Able to manage multiple moving parts in a busy household

  • A confident driver with a current licence

  • Experienced as a nanny, au pair, household manager, teacher's aide, education student or parent (highly regarded)

  • Must hold Australian permanent residency or citizenship

  • Must hold a current Working with Children Check before commencing employment

  • Must have a minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience in childcare or household management

An interest in education, child development or learning support is important. While formal teaching qualifications are not required, this role would particularly suit someone studying or considering a future in education, childcare, psychology or a related field — or someone who genuinely enjoys helping children build strong learning habits and independence.

What We Offer

  • Stable, consistent hours

  • Competitive pay based on experience

  • A respectful, supportive and welcoming family environment

  • A long-term opportunity where you can make a meaningful difference
