Position Details

• Position: Motor Mechanic
• Employment Type: Full Time
• Hours: 38 hours per week
• Salary: $77,000-$80,000 plus Superannuation

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties including, but not limited to:

• Performing routine servicing and mechanical repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models, including brake systems, clutch repairs, and timing belt replacements.
• Conducting inspections and diagnostic testing to detect mechanical and electrical faults.
• Using diagnostic equipment and computer-based systems to accurately identify vehicle issues.
• Repairing or replacing worn and defective parts and components as required.
• Carrying out oil and fluid changes for engines and transmissions.
• Completing roadworthy inspections and ensuring vehicles meet required safety standards.
• Performing final quality assurance checks prior to vehicle handover.
• Maintaining workshop cleanliness and complying with workplace health and safety procedures.
• Keeping up to date with current automotive technologies, repair methods, and industry developments to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Communicating with customers regarding vehicle issues, recommended repairs, service requirements, and estimated costs to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Diagnosing faults and mechanical problems across a broad range of vehicle brands and models.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

• Certificate III or higher qualification in the automotive industry
• Minimum 1 year of relevant industry experience
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
• Excellent understanding of vehicle systems and components
• Good time management and organizational abilities
• Professional attitude and strong work ethics
• Ability to perform maintenance, fault finding, and repair work efficiently
