Duhan Group Pty Ltd is an established automotive business operating in Coburg, Victoria. The business is associated with VD Affordable Car Rentals, a related car rental business with its own fleet of rental vehicles requiring regular servicing, mechanical repairs, inspections and urgent breakdown support.
Due to the ongoing maintenance needs of the rental fleet and increasing workshop demand, we are seeking a reliable and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Inspecting, diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults in motor vehicles.
- Servicing and maintaining a fleet of rental vehicles to ensure they remain safe, roadworthy and reliable.
- Carrying out scheduled maintenance, oil changes, tune-ups, brake repairs and general mechanical servicing.
- Diagnosing engine, transmission, suspension, steering, braking and cooling system issues.
- Dismantling, repairing and replacing worn or defective mechanical parts and components.
- Using diagnostic equipment and tools to identify vehicle faults.
- Testing repaired vehicles and components to ensure proper performance.
- Maintaining accurate service and repair records.
- Conducting vehicle safety checks and assisting with roadworthy preparation where required.
- Responding to urgent vehicle repair needs and emergency breakdown situations when required.
- Ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with workshop procedures.
Skills and Experience Required
Applicants must have:
- At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic or in a similar automotive repair role.
- Relevant automotive mechanical qualification or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing, repairs, fault diagnosis and preventative maintenance.
- Experience with engines, brakes, suspension, steering, transmissions and general mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to manage busy workshop demands and fleet maintenance requirements.
- Flexibility to work rostered shifts and be available for urgent or emergency breakdown work when required.
Employment Conditions
This is a full-time role based in Coburg North (VIC) 3058. The salary package on offer starts from AUD $80,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
The position involves rostered shifts and may require availability for urgent vehicle repairs or emergency breakdown support due to the operational needs of the related car rental fleet.
