Salary: $77,000 per annum + Superannuation
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (38 hours per week)
An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our growing team of C&M Automotive. This position is based at our main workshop located at 12 Joseph Baldwin Place, Shepparton VIC 3630. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the increased workload resulting from business expansion. The role involves working on a wide range of vehicles, diagnosing complex mechanical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring all servicing work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced workshop environment, requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the team.

Task & responsibilities
• Carry out comprehensive diagnostics on petrol and diesel vehicles using advanced diagnostic equipment
• Perform scheduled servicing, logbook servicing, and preventative maintenance across a wide range of vehicles
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
• Repair and replace defective components including engines, transmissions, clutches, brake systems, steering, and suspension components
• Conduct safety inspections and roadworthy checks to ensure compliance with Australian standards
• Test drive vehicles after repairs to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance
• Identify potential mechanical issues and provide recommendations for preventative maintenance
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and service details
• Ensure all work is completed within required timeframes to meet customer and business expectations
• Assist in maintaining workshop efficiency and workflow, especially across multiple sites
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
• Adhere strictly to Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) regulations and safe work practices
• Maintain a clean, organised, and professional workshop environment
Qualification & experience
• Relevant qualification: Certificate III or IV in Automotive Mechanical Technology or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic
• Strong knowledge of petrol and diesel engine systems and vehicle components
• Experience working in a busy workshop environment
• Ability to diagnose complex faults using modern diagnostic tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
• Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
