Mornington Tyre Service in Hobart is looking for a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our busy and enthusiastic team. This is a great opportunity to work in a growing business with a strong customer base.

Position Details:

• Full-time position
• Minimum 38 hours per week
• Workdays: Monday to Friday
• You may be required to work outside standard hours from time to time to meet clients and business

•  Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic tools
• Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and logbook servicing
• Repair and replace engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials
• Inspect and repair braking systems, steering, and suspension components
• Conduct tyre fitting, balancing, rotations, and wheel alignments
• Carry out vehicle inspections and road testing
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards
• Provide technical advice and support to customers when required
• Work efficiently to meet deadlines and workshop targets
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment
• Use and maintain tools and equipment safely and effectively

Skills & Requirements:

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and Diploma of Automotive Technology
• Minimum 1–3 years of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with a wide range of vehicle makes and models
• Knowledge of engine management systems and automotive electronics
• Ability to use diagnostic scan tools and workshop equipment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team demands
