About You:

You are a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist who takes immense pride in precision, efficiency, and high-quality workmanship. You thrive in an environment that challenges you to continually improve and innovate. You are not just looking for a job—you are looking for a long-term career where you can grow, contribute, and be recognised for your expertise.

People describe you as:

  • Meticulous and focused, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for accuracy.

  • Highly skilled, with a deep understanding of CNC machining techniques and best practices.

  • Adaptable and solutions-driven, always ready to troubleshoot and solve machining challenges.

  • A team player, who communicates effectively and works collaboratively to achieve success.

  • Self-motivated and independent, able to take initiative and see tasks through to completion.

  • Committed to safety and quality, with a strong work ethic and a dedication to following best practices.

You enjoy working with state-of-the-art machinery and are always looking for ways to enhance efficiency and improve processes. Your passion for machining is evident in the way you approach every job, ensuring that each component meets the highest standards of precision and quality.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant certification: Trade Certificate III in Machining or Fitting/Machining.

  • Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in both manual and CNC machining.

  • Proficiency in operating manual lathes, milling machines, horizontal/vertical borers, and grinders.

  • Experience operating and programming CNC lathes, CNC machining centres, and CNC milling machines (Mazatrol experience highly regarded).

  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings.

  • A keen eye for detail, precision, and quality control.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • A strong work ethic and problem-solving mindset.

  • Valid White Card and Police Clearance.

  • WA Driver’s License and ability to pass ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing.

Non-essential, but highly desirable:

  • Hydraulic cylinder experience

  • Line boring experience

  • Competent towing a trailer

  • HR Licence

  • Forklift Licence

The Role:

This role involves both manual and CNC machining, making it ideal for an experienced professional who is adaptable, precise, and passionate about their craft. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating both manual and CNC machines to manufacture precision components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to perform precision machining of components based on blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders.

  • Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, and borers for custom machining tasks.

  • Load raw materials into machines and secure them properly to ensure accurate machining.

  • Install and adjust cutting tools, machine attachments, and fixtures as required for each job.

  • Monitor both CNC and manual machining processes and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper dimensions and surface finishes are achieved.

  • Conduct regular inspections of finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.

  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the machining process.

  • Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organised work area.

  • Keep detailed records of production data and completed jobs for tracking purposes.

Additional Considerations:

  • Site-specific induction and entry cards, such as RIO, BHP, FMG, or MSIC, will be highly regarded.

  • The position is based in Karratha and involves local work, although those willing to relocate may be considered for short-term FIFO engagement during probation or relocation.
