Could you be our next CNC Machinist?

Based in a busy machine shop in Murarrie, this is a hands-on CNC role working across a mix of one-off components, breakdown jobs, and small to medium production runs.

What's in it for you?

This isn't a "just 38 hours" type of role.
  • 6am-4:30pm, Monday to Thursday, 6am-3:30pm Friday
  • Optional Saturdays available (4-8 hours)
  • Permanent full-time base, starting from $46-$47p/h
  • $60 weekly bonus on top of your pay check
If you're the type who wants to get in early, get the job done, and take advantage of overtime - you'll do well here.

Your New Role
  • Mazak equipment + varied work (not repetitive production)
  • Strong long-term opportunity with a stable, growing business
You'll be working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same - supporting both production and maintenance teams with precision machining.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Program, set up and operate CNC lathes (Mazak QTE300MY x 1000)
  • Write and modify programs using Mazatrol CNC software
  • Work across multiple jobs at once in a fast-paced workshop
  • Produce high-quality, precision components to tight tolerances
  • Read and interpret technical drawings
  • Troubleshoot and optimise machining processes
  • Support breakdown and reactive maintenance work
  • Collaborate with the wider workshop team and assist junior staff where required
What you'll need
  • Proven experience programming and operating CNC lathes
  • Strong Mazak / Mazatrol experience (essential)
  • Trade qualification (Machining / Fitting & Turning preferred)
  • Ability to read drawings and work to tight tolerances
  • Experience in a jobbing / manufacturing workshop environment
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and in a team
What sets you apart
  • You're proactive - you don't wait around between jobs
  • You can manage multiple tasks and keep things moving
  • You take pride in producing high-quality work
  • You're reliable, consistent, and a solid team player
  • You enjoy variety and problem-solving in a workshop environment
This isn't a repetitive production role - you'll be working across a wide variety of industries including food, mining and industrial projects, keeping the work interesting and challenging.

With a strong pipeline of ongoing work, consistent overtime, and a supportive team environment, this is a great opportunity for someone looking for long-term stability and growth.
