We are seeking a proactive and detail-orientated Quality Assurance Manager to ensure we continue to meet industry best practices in food safety and compliance. This is a leadership role requiring a thorough understanding of quality assurance practices and regulatory compliance together with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.

Task & responsibilities

• Update, implement and monitor quality assurance procedures for handling, processing and storage at our Laverton North site, staying updated on industry trends, regulations and advancements in quality assurance.
• Review and update SOPs, work instructions and quality documentation: educating and assisting the Team to understand any changes and all Food Safety and Quality requirements.
• Monitor daily GMP, hygiene and housekeeping practices to ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP and food safety standards. Co-ordinating the in-house quality assurance activities such as testing, reviews, audits, etc and maintaining the related data for analysis and reporting in accordance with the QA framework.
• Manage food safety and take immediate action should a non-conformance arise, including stopping production or delivery and quarantining finished goods if necessary. Promptly escalating issues if they arise.
• Schedule, organise and lead the audit program including assisting in Customers audits as required. Manage Corrective Action Requests or Non-Conformances ensuring prioritisation and timely closure. 
• Lead the Occupational Health and Safety Committee to ensure compliance and timely remedy of any issues.

Qualification & experience

• Degree in Food Technology, Applied Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience leading quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, HACCP, GMP, and relevant industry standards.
• Experience in quality data analysis, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop quality and laboratory teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management systems.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
